A
site was selected with sweeping views
of the city, river and a new three acre park.
An idea began to form, a building created
to take advantage of views and light. Set against the vibrant
backdrop of River North
the character of Kingsbury on the Park began to take shape.
Inspired by the excitement and energy of the neighborhood's history,
edgy
industrial materials were melded with residential aesthetic
to create a distinctive, striking structure - Kingsbury on the
Park.
The "sister" building
to Erie on the Park takes the expression of steel further
by using prefabricated balconies, which
are constructed of trusses. The architectural expression
of the applied balcony, as opposed to the inset balconies
at Erie on the Park, breaks down the scale of the building
while adding distinctive shadows and textures.
